Hernan Cortes (Hernán Cortés de Monroy y Pizarro Altamirano) born in 1485 in Medellin, Extremadura, Spain. His parents belonged to the nobility, his dad was hidalgo, which means he belonged to lower nobility. During his childhood Hernan was apparently a clever but difficult kid, he always made his parents stress out.

Hernan's personality was said to be, ruthless, good leader, intelligent, skilled at fighting

Hernan went to the University of Salamanca and studied law

The main achievement was conquering the Aztec Empire. Using his skills and talent Cortes was able to lead multiple battles going to the new world to conquer the great Aztec Empire and defeat it.

Hernán Cortes died old and poor from disease in Spain.

Impact

Cortes impact on the world was the destruction of mesoamerica in the new world for the Spanish crown and inspired more conquistadors to conquer the new world and the southern americas. To this day his impact of exploration and conquest to the defeat the Aztecs still are their to this day.
